The Prozorov family's nanny, eighty years old and in service to the family for thirty years; Natasha humiliates and threatens to dismiss her as unfit to work in Act Three, over Olga's anguished objection, and by Act Four she has been given a small room in Olga's official quarters at the school, grateful for the security in her old age.
