An acquaintance of D. T. Savelyev's, on whose behalf he had asked Chekhov to send a complete set of his works, cash-on-delivery; Chekhov explains in that two of the books are sold out and being reprinted, promises to send them once available, and to try to visit her in the south that spring. Referred to in the letter only as "Anna Ivanovna," identified by the editors' commentary as Pekhovskaya; distinct from (Anna Ivanovna Suvorina, Aleksei Suvorin's wife) and the corpus's other "Anna Ivanovna" figures -- a name shared by several unrelated women in this correspondence and requiring careful disambiguation each time it recurs.

This "Anna Ivanovna" is Anna Ivanovna Pekhovskaya, an acquaintance of Savelyev's who had asked (via Savelyev's letter) for a complete set of Chekhov's works, cash-on-delivery. She is a DIFFERENT Anna Ivanovna from the one who recurs elsewhere in this corpus as Suvorin's wife (e.g.) -- the name is common enough in this correspondence (see also,) that each occurrence must be checked against its own context rather than assumed to be the same woman.
