Roman Borisovich Apollonsky, an actor of the Imperial Alexandrinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, cast here to play Dr. Lvov in the Petersburg production of Chekhov's "Ivanov"; the casting is confirmed again later in the corpus. Not to be confused with the fictional character Lvov himself.
