Misha Ivanov
also: Мишя Иванов, Миша Иванов, Misha
A member of the supper party after "The Seducer of Seville", described in tails and a white tie, who reproaches Chekhov that Muscovites don't know how to support their fellow writers with applause. Plausibly the composer and critic Mikhail Mikhailovich Ivanov, a Suvorin-circle figure, though not confirmed by further identifying detail in this letter. Distinct from Mikhail Pavlovich Chekhov (Chekhov's own brother) and from the many unrelated Ivanovs elsewhere in the corpus -- not to be conflated with either.
