Fyodor Timofeich (Suvorin's dog)

Fyodor Timofeich

also: Федор Тимофеич

A real dog kept by the Suvorin household in Petersburg in 1888, one of three dogs Chekhov describes there during his March 1888 stay. Shares its name with both an earlier Chekhov-family dog/cat in Moscow (1885) and the elderly performing cat Fyodor Timofeyich in Chekhov's story "Kashtanka" -- three distinct namesakes, none identical.
