Lefaucheux revolver system
Lefaucheux
also: системы Лефоше, Лефоше
A real French pinfire revolver system designed by Eugene Lefaucheux, popular from the 1850s-60s; by the 1880s it was outdated compared to newer center-fire revolvers, which is the basis of the gun-shop clerk's snobbish dismissal of it in "The Avenger" as unfashionable and fit only for "intellectual proletarians and hysterical women."
