Guryev kasha
also: гурьевская каша, Gurievskaya kasha
A rich Russian semolina dessert porridge, baked with layers of caramelized milk skin, nuts, and dried or candied fruit; named for Count Dmitry Guryev, a nineteenth-century finance minister. Chekhov invites Suvorin to Moscow partly with the promise of eating it, noting he is himself beginning to acquire a taste for it.
