"Moscow Letters" (proposed newspaper rubric)

"Moscow Letters"

also: Московские письма, Moskovskiye pisma

A newspaper rubric Chekhov proposes to Suvorin as a fallback if Suvorin cannot find a good feuilletonist for Novoye Vremya: open the column to any volunteer contributor willing to write, and have Suvorin cull the most interesting material from what comes in. Chekhov volunteers to contribute to it himself if it comes to pass. Distinct from (the existing Moscow Gazette newspaper), which shares no connection beyond the "Moscow" adjective; as of this letter the rubric is only a proposal, not yet realized.
