Reading notes
- On Holy Night §83 Everyone's off now to break the fast
Razgovenie is the ceremonial breaking of the Great Lent fast immediately after Paschal Matins and the Divine Liturgy, traditionally with blessed kulich (Easter bread), paskha (a sweet curd dish), and eggs; that the whole community goes off to the archimandrite's razgovenie while Ieronim remains alone on the ferry is the story's last, quiet image of his exclusion from communal joy.
