Riza

riza (chasuble)

also: риза

The ornate outer liturgical vestment worn by an Orthodox priest while celebrating the Divine Liturgy, as distinct from his everyday ryasa; a poor, worn, or ill-fitting riza reflected on the wealth of the parish itself as much as on the priest.
