Anyuta Blagovo

Anyuta

also: Anna Blagovo

Daughter of the deputy chairman of the district court and sister of Dr. Vladimir Blagovo; tall, reserved, and dignified. Secretly and steadfastly loves Misail from a distance -- anonymously sending him food and a scarf during his hardest years -- but, out of propriety, asks him publicly not to greet her once he becomes a workman; in the story's final pages she visits Kleopatra's grave with Misail and helps care for his niece, never marrying.
