Krasnovsky

Zinaida Fyodorovna's husband, an off-stage figure who suspected his wife's affair for some time before their final quarrel, in which he pleaded with her not to leave (warning it could harm his career) before she departed for Orlov. Since Zinaida Fyodorovna's daughter Sonya is legally registered under his name, Orlov proposes at the story's end that Krasnovsky might formally be asked to take the child in.
