The cabinetmaker who owns Kashtanka at the start of Chekhov's "Kashtanka" (1887); a drunk who loses her on a nighttime round of his customers and, in the final chapter, unknowingly reclaims her at the circus when his son Fedyushka recognizes her from the gallery.
