The mother of the wealthy Azhogin family, hosts of the town's amateur theatricals; a self-declared crusader against superstition (lighting three candles, starting business on the thirteenth) whose household is nonetheless scandalized when Kleopatra's pregnancy becomes visible mid-rehearsal.
