Poloznev (the architect)

Misail's father

also: the architect Poloznev

Misail and Kleopatra's father, the town's only architect for fifteen or twenty years, a self-satisfied, talentless, and violent man who beats Misail for renouncing 'a position in society,' disinherits and disowns both his children, and quotes scripture ("as ye sow, so shall ye reap") at his son rather than reconcile with him even after Kleopatra's death is announced.
