Andrei Ptakha

One of the two peasant constables escorting the nameless tramp; black-bearded, thickset, carefree and talkative, he pesters the tramp with blunt questions about his identity and, at the end, bluntly agrees that the tramp is too sickly to survive the journey to Siberia.
