Auntie (unnamed, dying, autumn 1891)

Auntie

also: тетка, Auntie

An unnamed aunt in Chekhov's extended family reported here, in a single terse sentence, to be dying; mentioned in no other located Chekhov correspondence of this stretch and not further identified by the source. Distinct from the earlier Sumy/Luka-period "Auntie" and from the Moscow-household "Aunt F." tracked from a different, non-adjacent letter -- nothing in this letter ties the figure to either.
