Chechevitsyn

also: Чечевицын, Cherepitsyn, Chibisov, Montigomo, Hawk's Claw, Монтигомо, Ястребиный Коготь

Volodya's schoolfellow, a sullen, plain, freckled second-year gymnasium pupil brought home for the holidays, who has immersed himself in Mayne Reid-style adventure fiction and plans a runaway expedition to America to hunt, dig for gold and ivory, and fight 'savages.' He gives himself the invented name and title 'Montigomo, Hawk's Claw, chief of the unconquered,' and the father comically mangles his real surname twice (Cherepitsyn, Chibisov). Caught with Volodya after a night at the railway station, he answers his interrogation proudly and leaves the household stern and unrepentant.
