Feniksov-Dikobrazov II

A touring celebrity reciter and comic actor who arrives for a provincial engagement already affecting first-class airs on a third-class ticket, then goes on a days-long drinking bout that threatens the show; subjected to the theater barber Grebeshkov's brutal folk cure of beatings and a purgative vodka concoction, he recovers within the week and, to his impresario's astonishment, bears his tormentor no grudge.
