Dolgorukov (1810-1891), Governor-General of Moscow from 1865 until his death, reported here as having sent an aide-de-camp to summon Tolstoy to account for the suppressed essay "Nicholas the Stick" -- a summons Tolstoy twice deflects with dry, formally correct refusals before the aide-de-camp learns Tolstoy has simply left for Yasnaya Polyana. Distinct from, a Moscow street named for the same princely family but not tied to this specific Dolgorukov.
