Zotov's half-remembered granddaughter, living on a farmstead some ten or twelve versts away; the daughter of his niece Katerina, she is never seen in the story but becomes the object of Zotov's sudden, half-drunk resolve to move in with her and leave his house to her in exchange for being fed.
