Pavel Ignatyevich Klimov

A fleshy, forty-year-old landowner from Tula, a distant relation of the manufacturer Zybayev, who challenges the actor Podzharov to a duel on learning that the woman in his boastful love story is Klimov's own niece Varenka, then accepts a private, groveled retraction outside in the rain.
