Kolpakov's wife

Nikolai Petrovich Kolpakov's unnamed wife, who traces him to Pasha's apartment, accuses Pasha of driving him to embezzlement, and demands the return of jewelry and cash to save him from arrest; her class contempt and threat to kneel before Pasha drive the story's central confrontation, though she departs without a word once Pasha has surrendered everything she owns.
