Fictional daughter of Blagosvetlov in the play "The Wood Demon", named at Chekhov's suggestion after he vetoes "Sasha" (already used in his own "Ivanov"). A well-educated, bored, lazily philosophizing young woman of twenty-three or twenty-four who falls under the spell of Viktor Petrovich Korovin ("the Wood Demon"). Distinct from, the real Suvorin daughter elsewhere in this correspondence -- the shared given name is coincidental.

This fictional Nastya of "The Wood Demon" is NOT the same entity as, Suvorin's real daughter sent regards elsewhere in this correspondence (e.g.) -- the shared given name is coincidental and the two must not be conflated.
