Olga Mikhailovna

also: Ольга Михайловна

Fictional character in Chekhov's story "Хорошие люди" ("Good People"), discussed here in Chekhov's defense of the story against Pleshcheyev's criticism. A liberal former student of the higher courses, sympathetic to Chekhov, who lies at every step but for whom the lying causes real pain. Not a real person -- distinct from any other Mikhailovna in the corpus.
