One of only three orators Chekhov says he has heard speak in his lifetime (with Plevako and Fedchenko), named to an instructor seeking models of oratory; otherwise unidentified in this corpus. Distinct from the unrelated, likewise-unidentified acquaintance of the father named "Pokrovsky" in and from "Father Pokrovsky", the Taganrog priest -- a common surname shared by unrelated figures.

DISAMBIGUATION (load-bearing): this "Pokrovsky" is a public orator whom Chekhov names as one of only three speakers he has heard in his lifetime (with Plevako and Fedchenko) -- a NEW, DISTINCT entity, NOT to be conflated with the unrelated, likewise-unidentified "Pokrovsky" named as an acquaintance of the father, Pavel Yegorovich, in \S13 (there left with entity_id null), and NOT to be conflated with "Father Pokrovsky", the Taganrog priest established elsewhere in the corpus (e.g.). All three are common-surname namesakes with no evidence of shared identity, per the corpus's general caution against merging entities on surname alone.
