Nikolai and Olga's daughter, ten years old (not thirteen, correcting this entity's earlier provisional summary) in Chekhov's novella "Peasants" (Мужики, 1897): small and thin for her age, fair-haired, able to read, she chants the Gospel aloud to the admiration of the village, befriends her cousin Motka, is given twenty kopecks by the student Georges after the Zhukovo fire, and at the novella's end walks back to Moscow with her widowed mother Olga, the two of them reduced to begging alms along the road. In the discarded draft continuation chapters given in this corpus under "Unfinished [Schulz]" (work id neokonchennoe-shulc) she is later lodged with her aunt Klavdia Abramovna near the Patriarch's Ponds.
