Terenty

also: Терентий, дядя Терентий, дядя Терентий сапожник

A tall, gaunt, perpetually half-drunk village cobbler with very long legs, who frees Danilka's trapped hand, then leads the two homeless children on a day-long ramble through fields and woods, dispensing homespun natural lore on everything from bee swarms to thunder, and at night returns to bless the sleeping children and tuck bread under their heads.
