Uncle Ge

also: дядя Гея, Uncle Ge

An ailing relative or family connection of Suvorin's, referred to only by the private nickname/pun "дядя Гея" (\S5) -- rendered literally as "Uncle Ge" -- whose reported improvement under the Koch cure prompts Chekhov's skeptical aside about erysipelas and cancer. The nickname is not confidently expanded: "Гея" could gesture at a diminutive, a family in-joke, or a garbled surname, but no internal or external evidence in this corpus fixes its referent. Recorded here as genuinely unidentified rather than guessed at.
