Volodya Korolyov

A gymnasium schoolboy home for the Christmas holidays, who is talked by his schoolfellow Chechevitsyn into a runaway scheme to reach America; in Chechevitsyn's play-acting he is cast as the "pale-faced brother" to Chechevitsyn's invented Indian chief persona. He weeps and nearly backs out from missing his mother before the two boys are caught in town.
