Bozharovsky Pool
Bozharovsky pool
also: Божаровский омут, Bozharovsky omut
A deep pool or backwater (омут) near Babkino/Voskresensk, evidently a place Maria Vladimirovna Kiseleva was known to dream of or often mention; Chekhov invokes it in a 7 May 1890 letter to her from the flooded bank of the Irtysh as the domestic counterpart to the river now haunting his own imagination -- "You often used to dream of the Bozharovsky pool; well, now it is the Irtysh I shall dream of."
