A government-run horse-breeding stud farm at the village of Khrenovoye in Voronezh province, managed by Stepan Pavlovich Ilovaisky. Chekhov's famine-relief party spent a day there on 8 February 1892, touring the farm and watching amateur theatricals rehearse Gogol's "Marriage."
