The confectioner's shop Pyotr names, sarcastically, as the site of his "wedding" to the woman he lives with -- a joking admission to Nikolai Matveich that no actual marriage ceremony has taken place.

Pyotr's answer is a joke at his father's expense: a pastry shop or confectioner's (кондитерская) is of course not a church, and there has been no wedding -- he is telling the visiting Nikolai Matveich, bluntly and mockingly, that the woman is not his wife at all, which is precisely the unauthorized cohabitation the deacon goes on to describe with horror in section 31.
