Yermak (steamer)
Yermak
also: "Ермак"
The river steamer on which Chekhov travelled down the Amur in June 1890, having just completed the roughly 4,500-verst overland leg of his journey across Siberia; named in the datelines of the letters to Alexey Plescheev (20 June) and Maria Kiseleva (21 June), both written aboard it below Pokrovskaya, and both remarking on its uncomfortable shaking.
