This "Medea" is a Chekhov title requested alongside ten copies of "Twilight" -- i.e. one of Chekhov's own Suvorin-published items -- and is NOT the Euripides tragedy. It is also distinct from, an unrelated play tied to Suvorin's membership in the Society of Russian Dramatic Writers (first appearing in); the three "Medea" references across the corpus (Euripides, Suvorin's play, and this Chekhov title) should not be cross-referenced against one another.
