A story collection by A. S. Lazarev (Gruzinsky), issued by the Oskolki editorial office; Chekhov recommends it to a correspondent as worth ordering by post in \S6 ('Grузинский...podaval bolshiye nadezhdy'), and here reports that copies have reached Tikhonov and Shcheglov, playing on the title in a small joke ('no longer bored, for they have both received Not-Boring Stories').
Reading notes

A pun-driven bit of literary gossip: \emph{Not-Boring Stories} is Lazarev-Gruzinsky's own story collection, published by the \emph{Oskolki} editorial office and previously recommended by Chekhov to a correspondent in \S6 ('Grузинский...podaval bolshiye nadezhdy'). The joke turns on the title itself: Tikhonov and Shcheglov, having now received copies, are 'no longer bored' -- Chekhov playing the collection's title against the two recipients' presumed idle moments. Addressed to Yezhov as a message to relay to his writing partner, not Lazarev-Gruzinsky directly.
