A story by Nikolai Mikhailovich Yezhov, whose title character "Count Korzhinsky" is a fictional creation within the story, not a real historical count. Chekhov relays Yezhov's own anxious question about whether the story -- presumably submitted to Suvorin's \emph{Novoye Vremya} around the same time as the story mentioned in \S4 of this same letter -- was of any use, closing the letter as a brief, undiscussed postscript-like final line.

"The Tricks of Count Korzhinsky" is a story by Yezhov; "Count Korzhinsky" is a fictional character within Yezhov's own story, not a real historical count, and is not catalogued as a separate entity -- this bare, undiscussed closing question (relayed on Yezhov's behalf, presumably about the story's fate with Suvorin) gives no further critical content to anchor one, unlike the sustained character-by-character discussion of Modest Tchaikovsky's "Symphony" in, where individual characters do receive their own entities.
