В. А. ТИХОНОВУ, 10 января 1892 г. Москва.
Headnote
Written 10 January 1892 from Moscow to Vladimir Alexeyevich Tikhonov (1857–1914), the playwright, prose writer, and editor of Sever with whom Chekhov carried on a long, jocular correspondence.
a brief, playful note. Chekhov mentions he does not receive Sever himself, then notes that although he had given 50 rubles to Nikolai Mikhailovich Yezhov, he did get the money back. He affirms something curtly ("Yes indeed"), thanks Tikhonov humbly, and closes with a mock-formal, affectionate sign-off calling himself "the name-day man of your heart" before signing his name.
