A hurried note written while Chekhov is packing: he first says he is enclosing 12 rubles, promises a fuller letter shortly, sends greetings, and signs off – then immediately corrects himself, revising the sum to 14 rubles and itemizing four new donors (N. I. Fyodorov, the editorial office of the journal "Sport," P. V. Petrov, and B. A. Suvorin) whose receipts Yegorov is asked to send on.
