Whitebrow

also: Белолобый

A large-breed, foolish black puppy with a big white blaze covering his forehead, belonging to the watchman Ignat's household; mistaken for a lamb and carried off in the dark by a hungry she-wolf, he treats her and her cubs as playmates rather than predators, plays with the cubs all day, then walks himself home that night -- twice getting back into the sheep-shed through the roof instead of the door, for which Ignat boxes his ears and switches him at the story's close.
