Pavel Alexandrych Blistanov

A poor touring actor who visits the rooming house every Tuesday and, wearing patched boots from poverty, accidentally takes the piano tuner Murkin's boots for his own; that evening, playing the title role in 'Bluebeard' at the theater, he nearly attacks Murkin when the tuner's clumsy explanation of the mix-up sounds like an accusation against a colleague's wife, in 'The Boots.'
