Father Fyodor

The local priest at or near Babkino/Nikulino, greeted by Chekhov in his closing bows to the Kiselev household and named again in the letter's comic lottery fantasy -- if Chekhov wins a hundred thousand rubles, a thousand of it will go to the Nikulino church, "for Father Fyodor's comfort and the parishioners' benefit." Not otherwise identified in the corpus by surname, and distinct from the unrelated fictional Father Fyodor Orlov of the story "Pismo".
