Editor of the Tomsk newspaper "Sibirsky Vestnik" ("Siberian Herald"), with whom Chekhov dines in Tomsk; Chekhov calls him "a local Nozdryov, a broad nature," comparing him to Gogol's blustering landowner, and reports drinking away six rubles with him. Also appears, with the same Nozdryov comparison, in the companion letter.
