NON-CONFLATION FLAG: this letter's detailed casting report -- Kokoshkina, Repina, Tatyana, Sabinin, and Adashev -- is entirely about Alexei Suvorin's OWN PLAY "Tatyana Repina", already anticipated since's headnote and now, with this letter, receiving its first detailed casting discussion in this corpus. It is NOT about Chekhov's own play "Ivanov," even though this letter falls only two days before Ivanov's 19 December 1888 Alexandrinsky premiere and briefly mentions Ivanov on its own terms at \S11. Kokoshkina and Repina named here are fictional characters in Suvorin's play, not real people.
