Owner or namesake of a glass factory in Vladimir province, which Chekhov proposes to visit with Lensky in the first week of Lent, describing furnaces "as huge as if they belonged to hell" and offering Lensky the chance to have crockery made to his own designs. Not otherwise identified or attested elsewhere in this corpus as currently built; known only by surname from this letter.
