place
Naibuchi
also: Найбучи
A locale on the eastern, ocean-facing coast of southern Sakhalin, reached by riding out from Korsakovsky Post; Chekhov calls it "this dismal, wretched Naibuchi" and notes that a real ocean swell breaks there, unlike the sheltered post itself. He rode out three times while living in the south of the island, and it is also where the wrecked boat carrying six shipwrecked American whalers washed ashore.
