"Sobiratel gribov" ("The Mushroom Gatherer"), a popular-science book by the naturalist Dmitri Kaigorodov, whom Chekhov had earlier recommended to Suvorin as a scholar worth commissioning for Severny Vestnik; here requested by telegram as reading matter, part of an emergency shopping list after the nearby town's supplies were cut off.
- To A. S. Suvorin, 24 July 1891. Bogimovo. §7 "The Mushroom Gatherer" arrived, but no mushrooms
"Sobiratel gribov" ("The Mushroom Gatherer"), the Kaigorodov book Chekhov had asked Suvorin to bring a month earlier (\S2) -- it has now arrived, but the mushroom hunt itself, undertaken as reading matter promised, has failed despite recent rain.
