Тина (The Mire)
The Mire
also: Тину, Tina
A short story by Chekhov (1886) depicting a cynical, sexually predatory Jewish innkeeper's daughter, Susanna Moiseyevna; Kiseleva's sharp private criticism of the story's frankness is the occasion for this letter, in which Chekhov mounts an extended defense of unflinching literary realism.
