To Ye. M. Shavrova, 30 January 1891. Moscow.
Е. М. ШАВРОВОЙ, 30 января 1891 г. Москва.
Headnote
Written two days after the letter of 28 January 1891, and now from Moscow – Chekhov has returned from Petersburg. He is sending Yelena Mikhailovna Shavrova back a story he had already mentioned to her before he left, asks for it to be returned once read, and gives his Moscow address (Malaya Dmitrovka, the Firgang house) so she can write to him there. He adds, briefly, that her story "Zamuzh!" ("Get Married!") went over well in Moscow, echoing the praise it had already drawn in Petersburg. A short, practical note between mentor and protegee.
