Antonina Ivanovna Abarinova

Abarinova

also: Абаринова

Actress to whose benefit performance Shcheglov, acting on Burenin's advice, diverted Chekhov's copies of "The Bear" intended for the Theater-Literary Committee, creating a scheduling conflict with the copy Chekhov had already promised to Savina. Chekhov states plainly that he does not know her at all, in contrast to the good things he has heard about Savina; no prior relationship between Chekhov and Abarinova should be assumed from this letter.
